Plasma Spray Coating
Plasma spray coating is based on the principle of turning gases (such as argon, helium, hydrogen) ionized by an electric arc into plasma and spraying the coating powder onto the surface by injecting it into this high-temperature plasma flow. The temperature of the plasma jet can reach up to 15,000 °C, allowing ceramic powders that are difficult to melt to be processed easily.
Flame Spray Coating
Flame spray is based on the principle of melting the coating powder or wire-form material in a flame created by a mixture of flammable gas (usually acetylene or propane) and oxygen and spraying it onto the surface. This method is preferred on large surfaces and in applications with low/medium performance expectations due to its low equipment cost and practical use.
HVOF (High Velocity Oxy-Fuel)
HVOF coating is based on the principle that combustion gases, which are formed by burning a mixture of fuel gas (propane, hydrogen or kerosene) and oxygen under high pressure, are passed through a nozzle at supersonic speed. The coating powder is injected into this high-speed gas flow and hits the surface at a speed of 800–1000 m/s. In this way, a mechanically very dense, high surface density and strong adhesion coating is applied to the part.
